It happened: I forgot to update my blog for a log time!

I have no escuses… maybe a couple… but anyway who cares? Is what I write that interesting?

Anyway I’m going to start to update it again with my thoughts and experiences both about computer science and normal life, so stick around!

See you soon!

Wow! It’s almost 2 weeks that I don’t write here!

I have really valid reasons: my hobbies!

I spent time watching my favorite tv shows: the new “2 broke girls” is really funny! “the big bang theory” is always pleasant!
Some new tv shows are really bad (in fact I think they have been cancelled: the playboy club and the remake of charlie’s angels: both have begun with a nice first episode and… well… that’s it!

Second hobby: Formula 1 2010 on my XBOX! I completed Valencia (totally dominated) and the scary Silverstone (good 3rd place). I’m working now on Hockeneim and I have only one comment: where is the beautiful track I used to love?!?! The current one is absolutely awful!

Third hobby: friends! I’ve been twice at the batting cages with some friends and I’m honest: I really like softball and baseball! It’s really funny!

What else? Well my real passion: programming! I’ve spent quite a bit of time working on my last assignment for the W3C course: I had to implement a web game and I made “hangman” for both desktop and mobile. The nice thing of this program is that it works offline! It has been tough but really satisfying!
I’ll post the link to the application and the code after it has been reviewed!

Be tuned!

It seems to me that one of the favorite activities of the Americans during the beginning of the “fall” (or autumn, like my friend Paul prefers) is the apple picking.

For the second year I didn’t miss this occasion!

Honestly I don’t go to do it because I love it… I mean… I like it but because it reminds me the when I was a kid and I was climbing on the pear trees close to my grandpa’s vineyard .

Now I can’t climb trees any more: today I tried with success but I’m not good as I used to be!

Anyway… The apples were delicious and now I have almost 30 pounds of apples at home!

It’s a while since I begun my online course! Actually in 3 weeks I’m done!

How is going? Great! I know I don’t know everything about web programming, but this course is really opening my mind!

The great part is that even if it should be dedicated to mobile, there are so many good advices for general web developing that it will be worth even if I’ll never develop anything for the cellphones!

I think I’ll collect some good link and I’ll post them at the end of the course!

Be tuned!

Probably the best quote I read tonight is from Mr President Barack Obama. He said “There may be no greater tribute to Steve’s success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented!”

I am one of these people: I learned of his passing checking my Facebook page on my iPhone!

Apple really changed the IT part of my life! I still remember when I was struggling with my last pc many years ago before I decided to give up on craziness and to switch!

At the beginning it has not been simple! It was not like now! Having a Mac was really another life and even if I switched to MacOs X 10.2, it was not simple at all to find programs and solutions for my needs!

But my first Mac taught me one of the most important things about a computer: it has to help your life, not complicate it!

I’m happy with what Apple has done in these years… Happy with most of the choices they have taken… Less happy with the latest direction they took.

And I like to think that Steve Jobs has contributed to make my technological life better with all the devices he and his company has created!

Goodbye!
